The Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service (NAUCS) Nataliia Aliushyna and President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Tanaka Akihiko signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
They agreed to cooperate on developing the capacity of Ukraine's civil service through strategic dialogue and organizing training programs on human resource development.
According to Natalia Aliushyna, Head of the Agency, cooperation between the NAUCS and the JICA is very important, especially in the context of implementing the reforms in Ukraine. Currently, the most important are projects that strengthen the institutional capacity of public institutions and help to develop human resources. These areas are proposed in JICA's training programs.
The cooperation includes training for civil servants in short-term and long-term programs. Currently, there is an opportunity to take courses in energy, cybersecurity, criminal liability, waste management, etc.
To date, civil servants have completed at least five short-term training programs, which were held in online and offline formats, in the following areas: household waste disposal and management, cyberattack prevention, and energy.
In 2024, the short-term programs will include training courses in various thematic areas in line with the Government's strategic directions. JICA is currently selecting candidates to participate in training programs in the following areas: road maintenance, investment attraction and business reform, education policy development, and agricultural safety management.
