The Head of the NAUCS discussed the issues of adaptation of female and male veterans to the conditions of public social life with representatives of the US Embassy in Ukraine and the IREX/Ukraine Programme. In particular, Nataliia Aliushyna, together with Matt Johnson, Advisor at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, Ulyana Bakh, Project Director at IREX/Ukraine, and Kostiantyn Tatarkin, Technical Advisor at the IREX/Ukraine Veterans Reintegration Programme, focused on the possibilities of cooperation in addressing the issues of engaging female and male veterans in public service.
According to the Head of the NAUCS, there is currently an actual need to develop and scale up educational programmes aimed at this social group.
She noted the importance of cooperation with international partners and projects in training veterans and women veterans and training relevant trainers and mentors. The parties expressed their belief that it is necessary to use opportunities to organise joint educational initiatives.
According to Nataliia Aliushyna, the NAUCS has positive experience organising, together with IREX and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, a Strategic Session in the format of facilitated group discussions to ensure the exchange of experience on organising internships for relevant categories of citizens under the USAID Dreaming and Acting programme implemented by IREX.
