We must constantly communicate with the EU about the need for Ukraine's accession. A high level of professional training of civil servants is important for the success of the negotiation process. Especially those who are members of the negotiation teams.

This was stated by Nataliia Aliushyna, Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service (NAUCS), during the opening of the training programme "Use of training technologies in the organisation of training on European integration and harmonisation of Ukrainian legislation with EU law".

The programme was developed by the NACS, the Higher School of Public Administration in partnership with the Knowledge Transfer Service of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) (project "Innovation Lab for EU-Ukraine Association Support") and the Government Office for Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.

The goal of the training programme is to prepare trainers who will be able to conduct trainings for civil servants whose responsibilities include European integration and harmonisation of Ukrainian legislation with EU law.

Today, about 30 civil servants took part in the first online training session of the programme. Over the course of two days, the participants will learn about the process of adapting national legislation to EU norms, which is one of the conditions for integration into the European Union, the sources of EU law, as well as the principles, methods, stages and techniques of transposition and implementation of EU legislation. This will help to prepare future trainers to conduct similar trainings for Ukrainian government officials.
