On October 9, the next stage of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU will take place in Brussels (Belgium).
The topic of the talks will be screening Ukrainian legislation for compliance with European law.
The adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to EU law will be assessed, particularly under the negotiating chapter 32 “Financial Control” and the area “Public Administration Reform”.
Nataliia Aliushyna, the Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service, will participate in the bilateral meeting between Ukraine and the European Commission as part of the official screening.
More information: During the official screening, the European Commission, together with the candidate country, analyzes the compliance of the national legislation of the candidate country with the relevant EU acquis (EU law). The screening takes place under 33 negotiating chapters, which are grouped into 6 clusters (thematic blocks). Based on the results of the screening, the European Commission will prepare a report on the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU law for each negotiating cluster. This document will finally determine the level of compliance and the further scope of work.
