Today, the second group of participants of the School of Strategists started their professional training. This is an innovative educational platform for civil servants of category A (Senior Civil Service Corps ), which was created based on the High School of Public Governance at the National Agency.
Yuliia Lykhach, Director of the High School of Public Governance, and Yevhen Mashyna, Deputy Director of the SURGe Project, welcomed the students of the School of Strategists.
This year, the training programme at the School of Strategists consists of 7 modules on the development of strategies for the country's development, public sectors, organisations, personal development, the role of the leader in building a virtuous organisational culture, communications, and gender-oriented governance.
In March, experienced lecturers and trainers will provide students with knowledge on forming an integrated system of state strategic planning and management in the context of globalisation, European integration and post-war reconstruction.
The training will take place in the form of a business game "Ukraine - a country of opportunities", using interactive methods that will help to maximise the coverage of topics relevant to the development of the civil service. These include the principles of the policy development cycle in line with results-based management, situation analysis and identification of citizens' problems, generation of policy options, etc.
As a result, the students will present a strategy for the development and recovery of Ukraine in the form of a Transition book.
The participants of this year's School of Strategists were civil servants who were appointed for the first time to civil service positions of category A.
In total, about 20 participants (civil servants of category A) in the general professional (certified) programme "School of Strategists" will receive the relevant certificates of training at the end of April.
More information: The School of Strategists is an educational initiative of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service (NAUCS) and the High School of Public Governance with the support of the SURGe project.
In 2023, 42 civil servants of category A took part in the pilot project.
