The Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service, Nataliia Aliushyna, met with the Head of the European Union Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI), Allan Pag Christensen. During the meeting, they discussed future cooperation in promoting integrity and zero tolerance to corruption in the public service. Implementation of such principles in the civil service and local self-government is critical for Ukraine's European integration and sustainability of public administration in wartime.
The Head of the NAUCS spoke about the main activities of the Agency in the field of integrity policy implementation in public authorities. According to her, professionalism, responsibility and integrity continue to be the key values of public servants, as demonstrated by the results of relevant surveys.
Recently, the NAUCS, together with its partners, developed a Communication Strategy for Promoting Integrity in the Civil Service and conducted a training for representatives of the communication units of central executive bodies on the main aspects of integrity communication.
In addition, every year, as part of the Richelieu Forum of Public Service, the NAUCS holds an Integrity Forum, which always attracts wide resonance and interest from the public, media, experts, etc.
During the meeting, Nataliia Aliushyna noted that the National Agency on Civil Service is interested in establishing close cooperation with the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine, in particular, in the context of the implementation of the State Anti-Corruption Programme until 2025.
"It is important for us to exchange international experience and learn best practices in building integrity and good governance. At the Higher School of Public Administration, we are implementing relevant training programmes for civil servants," said the Head of the NAUCS.
In addition, the Head of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI), Allan Pag Christensen, noted the progress in the work of anti-corruption institutions in Ukraine, their resilience and efficiency during the war. He also expressed readiness to cooperate and provide support in promoting integrity and anti-corruption projects and programmes.
