The NAUCS and the Directorate for Public Governance at the OECD will cooperate in promoting integrity in the civil service. These and other topics were discussed during a working meeting between Nataliia Aliushyna, the Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service, and Jesper Johnson, the Deputy Head of the Public Sector Integrity Division of the OECD Directorate for Public Governance.
According to Nataliia Aliushyna, the introduction of integrity in the civil service and local self-government is important for Ukraine's European integration and the sustainability of public administration during the war. As part of the implementation of the State Anti-Corruption Programme for 2023-2025, the National Agency was assigned several tasks. Most of them are communication-related. So the Agency developed a Communication Strategy for Promoting Integrity in the Public Service. It also organised a training for representatives of the communication units of central executive bodies on the main aspects of integrity communication. An Integrity Forum was also launched as part of the Richelieu Forum of the Public Service.
Despite the successful steps in this area, the National Agency is interested in cooperation with international partners, in particular the OECD, to jointly implement integrity in the civil service.
One of the meeting's topics was the implementation of the State Anti-Corruption Programme, in particular, the analytical research focused on improving decision-making procedures in public policy formation in the legislative and executive authorities.
